The land of the rising sun is a place where tradition meets modernity. A country where cleanliness, organization and punctuality are qualities worth being respected. A land of tropical beaches and snowy winters. A place where we discovered that hostelling with kids is a great idea. A land where our kid was impressed by trains, dad could not get enough of sushi and mum fell in love with the Zen gardens, trees and sleeping on tatami beds.
Many travellers across Thailand decide to spend at least a few days in Bangkok, its capital city. The Thai people also call it the city of angels. The city is home to over 15 million inhabitants who spend their days commuting and working. It also has quite a few spots where smaller and older kids can have fun and learn about the Thai culture.
This July, we spent three weeks wandering around Sri Lanka with our three-year-old kid. We changed our accommodation 11 times, switched a number of transportation devices and saw a multitude of animals living in their natural habitat.
